The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has marked a historic milestone under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, as the Governing Council, chaired by Professor Zubairu Tajo Abdallah, approved the naming of streets and facilities in recognition of distinguished donors and officers.

The approval was formalized during the Council’s 7th regular meeting for January 2026.
The initiative, recommended by the Committee on Street and Facility Naming, seeks to immortalize the legacies of individuals whose exceptional service, philanthropic contributions, and dedication have shaped the growth and development of the University. These honorees will now be permanently recognized across both campuses through the naming of streets, lecture theatres, hostels, and administrative facilities.
The decision underscores FUL’s commitment to honoring excellence, service, and transformative leadership, while embedding the memories of these notable contributors into the University’s institutional fabric. Members of the University community and the public are encouraged to take note of the newly designated facilities and streets.
