The new Directorate, situated in the Vice-Chancellor’s office, is aimed at professionalizing the University’s communication systems, safeguarding its corporate heritage, and enhancing stakeholder engagement. Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Ibileye highlighted that modern universities must not only excel in teaching, research, and community service but also effectively communicate their achievements, values, and institutional impact.
The Vice-Chancellor described the establishment of DSCCD as a strategic initiative to ensure coherent messaging, protect the University’s reputation, strengthen media relations, enhance its digital presence, and systematically preserve institutional memory.
Dr. Tósìn Ọlágúnjú was appointed as the pioneer Director of the Directorate, tasked with projecting the University’s achievements, managing its corporate identity, and overseeing archival documentation. He expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged to employ strategic and professional approaches in fulfilling the Directorate’s mandate.
