Federal University Lokoja Secures ₦1.423 Billion FMoE And TETFund Interventions For Infrastructure Upgrade
The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has secured a total of ₦1.423 billion in intervention funds from the Federal Ministry of Education (FMoE) and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to support laboratory upgrades, classroom furnishing, and other critical institutional needs.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, disclosed this during the university’s 101st Senate meeting held on 14 May 2026, where he briefed members on recent institutional developments and progress recorded since the last sitting.
According to him, the funds represent a significant financial boost aimed at strengthening academic infrastructure and improving teaching and learning facilities across the institution.
Professor Ibileye expressed appreciation to TETFund, the Federal Ministry of Education, and stakeholders whose advocacy contributed to the approval of the intervention, noting that the support reflects growing confidence in the university’s developmental direction.

He stressed that the funds must be managed with strict discipline, transparency, and clear prioritisation to ensure maximum institutional impact and value for money.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the university’s commitment to judicious utilisation of all interventions in line with regulatory guidelines and institutional development goals, particularly in areas that directly enhance academic delivery and student experience.
The Senate meeting also served as a platform for reviewing ongoing projects and reinforcing the university’s strategic focus on infrastructure improvement and academic excellence.
