The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has alerted the public to a fraudulent scheme involving the unauthorized use of the name and photograph of Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, on Facebook.

The university warns that the individual behind the account is engaging in scams and other dishonest activities. Members of the public are strongly advised not to respond to messages, friend requests, or business proposals claiming to come from Professor Ibileye, as he does not conduct any personal, financial, or business transactions on social media platforms.
The university stresses that anyone who engages with such fraudulent accounts does so entirely at their own risk. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious accounts or messages to the relevant authorities immediately.
The notice was issued by Dr. Tósìn Ọlágúnjú, Director of the Directorate of Strategic Communication and Corporate Documentation, on behalf of Federal University Lokoja. The university encourages wide circulation of this warning to protect the public from falling victim to this scam.
