The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), has invited students to submit written and vocal compositions for the development of an official university anthem.
The initiative follows approval by the University Senate and is open to all interested students across the institution.
According to the announcement, submissions are to be sent to the Dean of Students, Prof. Luqman Akinbile, via WhatsApp on 0802 325 0454. All entries will be assessed by a specially constituted panel.
The university stated that the panel will select the best composition for adoption as the official anthem. In addition, the top three entries will receive cash rewards.
The prizes are structured as follows: first place will receive 250,000 naira, second place 200,000 naira, and third place 150,000 naira.
The deadline for submission is the close of work on Friday, May 8, 2026.
The university encouraged students to participate actively, noting that the anthem project presents an opportunity to contribute to institutional identity and culture.
