The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) has stepped up monitoring of its permanent site projects following an unscheduled inspection visit by the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Sonny Echono, alongside the Vice-Chancellor, Francis Aba Uba, and other university stakeholders.

The inspection took place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the institution’s permanent site in Akwete-Akpa, where the team evaluated the quality and progress of ongoing infrastructure projects.
During the visit, the delegation assessed multiple key facilities, including the internal road network, the university gate, culverts, the administrative building, the College of Medicine complex, and the female hostel, which has been completed and is ready for use. Other ongoing structures aimed at supporting the institution’s full transition to its permanent site were also inspected.
A contractor handling the road project disclosed that asphalting of the road network is expected to be completed within the next eight weeks, a timeline that received positive acknowledgment from the inspection team.
The exercise provided an opportunity for the university leadership and TETFund officials to evaluate compliance with project specifications, monitor execution quality, and sustain momentum toward timely delivery of critical infrastructure.

Preliminary observations from the inspection indicated substantial progress across several project sites, strengthening confidence in the university’s plan to fully relocate to its permanent campus before the end of the year.
