Federal University of Lafia's Political Science Department Celebrates Maiden Ph.D. Graduates

The Political Science Department at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is celebrating its first cohort of Ph.D. graduates who successfully defended their theses during a well-attended seminar at the Muhammadu Buhari TETFund Centre of Excellence (MBTCE) on the Permanent Site Campus of the University.

The momentous event welcomed distinguished academics, including the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at FULafia, Prof. Victor S. Dugga. Prof. Dugga expressed his delight at being part of this historic achievement at the institution.

It's worth noting that FULafia, established in 2011, initiated its postgraduate studies in 2016. Among the graduating Ph.D. students, three specialized in Political Economy, while the other two focused on Public Administration and Policy Analysis.

Prof. Dugga commended the University's administration under the leadership of Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor, for reaching this significant milestone. He encouraged other students to embrace research activities and contribute solutions to the challenges facing the country.

Prof. Abdullahi Jibrin Dan'Asabe, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, praised the students for their academic achievements and encouraged fellow students to follow their dedication to complete their studies on time.

Dr. Dalhatu Musa Yusha'u, the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. George Genyi, Director of the Centre for Security Studies, Dr. Mrs. Linda Kwon-Ndung, and the thesis supervisors also expressed their satisfaction and pride in being part of this historic achievement.

The successful defense of the first Ph.D. theses at FULafia reflects the commitment of both students and faculty to the university's development and the pursuit of academic excellence.
