The Student Union Government (SUG) of Federal University Wukari has issued a statement addressing ongoing issues and challenges faced by the university community. The announcement, dated September 17, 2024, outlines the union's efforts and responses to recent predicaments, including a power outage and healthcare concerns.

The SUG acknowledges the difficulties experienced by students both on and off-campus and apologizes for the delay in addressing these issues. The statement highlights the union's commitment to representing student interests and welfare.

Regarding the recent blackout, the SUG reports that the University Management and Student Union Government are working diligently to resolve the problem. Actions include restoring the functioning transformer, installing new ones, and establishing a solar farm for reliable power distribution. These measures were discussed in a meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, Bursar, Dean of Student Affairs, and SUG representatives on September 12, 2024.

In response to complaints about the unavailability of medications in the University Clinic, the statement notes that the University Management has allocated funds for healthcare. Additionally, the SUG has provided essential drugs to the University Health Section on September 12, 2024, as a temporary measure.
