The Governing Council of Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic (HAFED), Kazaure, has directed the Rector, the Deputy Bursar, and the former Acting Director of Procurement, Physical Planning, to step down over allegations of misappropriation of funds and irregular contract management within the institution.

The directive was communicated by the Registrar of the Polytechnic, who also serves as the Secretary to the Governing Council. The Council took the decision during its 40th Regular Meeting held on March 13 and 14, 2025, citing concerns over financial misconduct and irregularities in the award and execution of projects.

“The Governing Council at its 40th Regular Meeting observed with dismay the misappropriation of funds and irregularities in the award and execution of projects in the Polytechnic. In view of this, the Council resolved that the Rector, the Former Acting Director of Procurement, Physical Planning, and the Deputy Bursar in Charge of Salaries should step aside with immediate effect to pave way for comprehensive investigations on the matter,” the statement read.

The decision is aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the institution’s financial operations while allowing for a thorough investigation into the alleged mismanagement.
