FETHI and EKSUTH MDCAN Move to Strengthen Healthcare Ties in Ekiti
The Management of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), and the Medical and Dental Consultants’ Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), EKSUTH Chapter, have initiated talks to forge a strategic partnership aimed at revolutionising healthcare delivery and professional training in Ekiti State.
During a courtesy visit to the hospital, the Chief Medical Director of FETHI, Professor Kolawole Olubunmi Ogundipe, welcomed the MDCAN delegation led by its Chairman, Dr. I.A. Kadiri. The discussions focused on creating a synergy between the two major medical institutions, specifically targeting advancements in clinical research, specialist training, and institutional capacity building.
Professor Ogundipe described the collaboration as a vital step forward, noting that FETHI is fully committed to leveraging collective expertise to improve community health outcomes. "By leveraging our collective strengths, we can achieve significant progress in healthcare delivery," the CMD stated, reaffirming his administration’s open-door policy for impactful professional alliances.
Earlier in the meeting, Dr. Kadiri congratulated Professor Ogundipe on his appointment, expressing confidence that a partnership between FETHI and the consultants at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) would foster a robust exchange of knowledge and enhance the technical skills of healthcare providers across the state.
The Acting Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Adeyemo Olabisi, echoed these sentiments, noting that a sustained relationship between both bodies would create a more resilient healthcare ecosystem in the region.
The visit concluded with a symbolic gift presentation and a commitment from both parties to move forward with joint initiatives that prioritize patient care and academic excellence.
