Former Osun State REC and UI Professor Abdulganiy Raji Passes Away

Professor Abdulganiy Olayinka Raji, a distinguished academic and former Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Osun State, has passed away. He was a Professor of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Ibadan (UI) and an indigene of Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Professor Raji served as the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti, Ogun, and Osun States during his tenure. Beyond his electoral duties, he was a prominent leader and "strong pillar" of the University of Ibadan Muslim Community (UIMC).

The University of Ibadan Muslim Community and the academic community have expressed deep shock and mourning over his sudden passing, describing it as a painful loss to both the institution and Nigeria's electoral circle. He is survived by his wife, children, and numerous family members.
