Fountain University Appoints Mr. Segun Sulaiman Balogun as New Substantive Bursar
The Governing Council of Fountain University, Osogbo, has approved the appointment of Mr. Segun Sulaiman Balogun, FCA, as the institution’s second substantive Bursar.
The Governing Council of Fountain University, Osogbo, has approved the appointment of Mr. Segun Sulaiman Balogun, FCA, as the institution’s second substantive Bursar.
The decision followed the Council’s 63rd Regular Meeting on Monday, 8 December 2025, and the adoption of recommendations from the Joint Council and Senate Selection Committee.
Mr. Balogun will assume office on 1 February 2026, succeeding Mrs. Silifat Ayinke Ali-Balogun, FCA, whose tenure concludes after years of dedicated service. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Balogun served as Deputy Bursar, bringing extensive experience in financial administration to his new role.
A distinguished professional, he holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Ilorin (1990) and an M.Sc. in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University (2019). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
In her congratulatory message, Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim praised the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Mr. Balogun’s dedication, integrity, and commitment to Fountain University. She expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen the University’s financial operations and drive ongoing developmental initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the Governing Council, Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Sheriff A. Adenekan, conveyed the Council’s best wishes, highlighting expectations of enhanced financial management and institutional growth under the new Bursar’s stewardship.
