The state-of-the-art equipment, funded through the Cambridge Alborada Fund, is expected to significantly enhance FUO's Molecular Biology and Genetic Diversity Research Laboratory, empowering researchers in the fight against cancer.
This latest addition reinforces Fountain University's commitment to innovative medical research and its broader goal of improving public health outcomes. The new equipment will bolster ongoing research in cancer diagnosis and treatment, allowing for more advanced and accurate findings.
The sponsorship supports collaborative research efforts between Prof. Nusrah Afolabi-Balogun of Fountain University and Dr. Sara Pensa of the University of Cambridge. This international partnership highlights FUO’s strategic focus on global scientific collaboration to address pressing health challenges.
In a recent initiative aligned with the university’s community service goals, the laboratory organized a successful free cervical cancer outreach program, offering screenings to over 600 women and providing specialized training for health practitioners and postgraduate students in early cancer diagnosis.
