FUGA VC Congratulates Yobe SSG, Dr. Goje, on New Appointment

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Gashua, FUGA, Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam, has congratulated the newly sworn-in substantive Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Dr. Mohammed Goje, during a visit to his office.
Professor Geidam, who was accompanied by Professor Mohammed Madawaki of the newly established Department of Banking and Finance, described Dr. Goje’s appointment as well deserved and expressed confidence in his capacity to contribute to the development of the state.
The visit held special significance as Dr. Goje was once a student of Professor Geidam during his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Maiduguri. He later became his colleague after joining the university as an academic staff member in the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine.
The Vice-Chancellor also congratulated another former student, Dr. Babagana Mohammed Adam, Group Managing Director of the Nigeria Food Corporation, who was recently sworn in as Special Adviser to the Yobe State Governor.
Professor Geidam said FUGA remained committed to playing a more impactful role in the development of Yobe State through quality university education, strategic partnerships, and the production of innovative, entrepreneurial, and job-creating graduates.
He added that the university would continue to strengthen collaboration with the state government and other stakeholders in the areas of education, human capital development, innovation, and socio-economic development.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for discussions on areas of mutual interest and collaboration between FUGA and the Yobe State Government. The SSG subsequently introduced the Vice-Chancellor to the Yobe State Commissioner for Commerce, Hon. Kaigama Umar Yunusari.
According to the university, the visit marked another step towards deepening the relationship between FUGA and the Yobe State Government, and advancing sustainable development across the state.
