The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is set to expand its online education offerings with the opening of a new centre in Abuja. This development follows a recent announcement by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, during a visit to the University’s liaison office in the nation's capital.

Professor Abdul Rahman highlighted the success of FULafia's existing online programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The new Abuja centre aims to extend these opportunities to students residing in the capital, providing them with access to a range of courses offered by the University.

In his address to the staff at the liaison office, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated his commitment to elevating FULafia to the rank of the fifth-best university in Africa. He emphasized the importance of dedication and excellence, reflecting on the successful management of online courses from the Lafia Centre.

"Online learning is not only effective and accessible but is also the preferred mode of education in today’s digital age," Professor Abdul Rahman remarked. He urged the Abuja team to uphold the University’s high standards, stressing that failure was not an option for an institution renowned for its academic excellence.

Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor on this visit were key members of the University administration, including the Registrar, Nuradeen Abdu; the Director of Open, Distance and e-Learning, Professor Amos Ambo; the Director of FULafia Consult, Dr. Ibrahim Usman; and the Vice-Chancellor’s Personal Secretary, Bashir Ozomata. 

The launch of the Abuja centre marks a significant step in FULafia's mission to broaden its reach and impact through innovative educational solutions.
