FULOKOJA Receives Advanced CCTV Surveillance System as Philanthropist Deepens Support for University Security

The Federal University Lokoja, FUL, has received a major boost to its security architecture with the donation of a high-tech Closed-Circuit Television, CCTV, surveillance system by renowned philanthropist and supporter of the University, Hon. Chief Empire Iweha, who is the President General of the Igbo Youth Congress, IYC, and Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Surveillance.

The donation, which forms part of Chief Empire's continued commitment to the growth and development of the institution, is aimed at strengthening security, enhancing surveillance, and protecting lives, property, and critical infrastructure across the University's campuses.

Presenting the equipment, the SSA described the intervention as his "little support" towards ensuring that the University continues to thrive in a safe and secure environment, adding that the gesture was his sincere way of demonstrating support for the Prof. Gbenga Ibileye-led administration, whom he regards as a great leader.

According to him, the surveillance system is specially designed for deployment in areas with little or no electricity, making it suitable for the University's operational needs across the vast expanse of land that houses the institution.

He explained that the equipment can be installed in any location on campus and monitored remotely through mobile phones or a central control station, thereby providing real-time surveillance and improving security response.

He noted that his relationship with the University has been driven by a sincere desire to contribute meaningfully to its progress. "I have remained committed to the Federal University Lokoja because I believe in its future. Beyond this donation, I have sponsored scholarships for nine students and supported the University with other materials over the years. This is simply my little contribution to help FUL succeed," he said.
