FUNAAB DVC Prof. Atayese Appointed Pioneer VC of FUADSI

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has announced the appointment of its Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Mufutau Olaoye Atayese, as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji (FUADSI), Osun State. Prof. Atayese will serve a single term of five years.

Prof. Atayese is a renowned expert in Plant Nutrition with over three decades of experience in teaching, research, and university administration. He has held several strategic leadership positions at FUNAAB, including Dean of the College of Plant Science and Crop Production, Chairman of the Committee of Deans, and Member of the Governing Council.

Throughout his career, Prof. Atayese has demonstrated excellence in scholarship and service. He has served on numerous statutory and ad hoc committees, including the Appointments and Promotions Committee for Academics and the Academic Planning and Curriculum Committee. His contributions to the Review of Postgraduate Rules and Regulations in 2025 were significant.

Prof. Atayese has earned several recognitions, including Fellow of the Agricultural Society of Nigeria (FASN) and Visiting Research Fellowship at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.

The Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, congratulated Prof. Atayese on his appointment, describing it as "a testament to FUNAAB's legacy of producing leaders of excellence and vision." He wished Prof. Atayese great success as he leads FUADSI into a new era of agricultural innovation, academic excellence, and national development.
