FUNAAB Michael Aladejobi Wins Highly Coveted NIPES Award
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has recorded yet another milestone of academic excellence as Mr. Michael Aladejobi, a fresh graduate of the Department of Computer Science, formerly a Department under the College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), and now under the newly established College of Computing (COLCOMP), clinched the highly prestigious 2025 NIPES' Dr. Daniel Ejike Ewim Foundation Scholarship Award.
The award, conferred by the National Institute of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) on August 8, 2025, was renowned for its rigorous standards and international reputation for honouring emerging leaders in engineering and science.
In a memo announcing the feat, the Dean of COLCOMP, Prof. Oluwasefunmi Arogundade, lauded the achievement, describing it as a clear reflection of FUNAAB’s culture of excellence and innovation. He noted that the recognition, which ranked among the most competitive scholarships globally, celebrates academic brilliance, research potential, and professional commitment.
During the official presentation, NIPES commended Mr. Aladejobi for his remarkable scholarly achievements and dedication to advancing scientific knowledge, urging him to sustain the drive that has positioned him as a shining example of Africa’s next generation of innovators.
The Scholarship, instituted in honour of Dr. Daniel Ejike Ewim, reaffirms NIPES’ commitment to nurturing visionary leaders who would contribute to national transformation and global scientific advancement.
Speaking on the award, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, expressed profound pride in the awardee and reaffirmed FUNAAB’s mission to be a breeding ground for world-class innovators and leaders. He said, “This outstanding recognition of Mr. Aladejobi is not just a personal victory, but a resounding testimony that FUNAAB is a global hub where talent is discovered, nurtured, and celebrated.
