The Management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has officially announced that it will not be admitting students into its Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic session. 

The directive, issued by the University Registrar, C.O. Adeleye, on February 3, 2026, serves as a critical notice to prospective medical students nationwide.

Following this development, candidates who have already selected FUTA as their preferred institution for the MBBS programme in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration are advised to take immediate action. 

Change of Institution: Candidates are urged to visit the JAMB Portal to effect a change of institution or course to an alternative university offering the MBBS programme.
