FUTA Commences Construction of New Academic and Administrative Buildings
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has started constructing new administrative and academic buildings to support its expanding activities.
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has launched the construction of new academic buildings and administrative offices to support its growing administrative and academic activities. The project includes a new administrative building for the offices of the Vice Chancellor and Deputy Vice Chancellors, two academic buildings for the Schools of Life Sciences and Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, and a campsite for the Department of Forestry and Wood Technology.
The construction was officially inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development, Professor Sunday Oluyamo, on June 13, 2024. Prof. Oladiji emphasized that these new facilities will enhance the university's infrastructure, bolstering its administrative and academic capabilities. She urged contractors to maintain high standards and complete the projects on schedule, highlighting the institution's commitment to advancing teaching, research, and community service.
Engr. Oladeji Boyinbode, Director of Physical Planning, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor and management for their continuous support. He assured that the Directorate would monitor the construction closely to ensure timely and quality delivery of the projects.

Deans of the Schools of Life Sciences and Agriculture and Agricultural Technology, Professors Olufemi Ashamo and Oluwatooyin Oludahunsi, thanked the Vice Chancellor for the infrastructure enhancements. They committed to maintaining the new buildings and utilizing them effectively once completed.
