The Students’ Union Government of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, has cautioned students against the vandalism and improper use of sports facilities on campus following a rise in reported cases of damage.
In a press statement signed by the SUG President, Comr. Sen. Adadu Ezekiel Machofo, and the Secretary General, Comr. Arowosegbe Daniel Precious, the union disclosed that incidents have included vehicles being driven onto the basketball court for content creation, football matches being played on the handball court, and other unauthorized activities within designated sports areas.

The union described the trend as a serious breach of university regulations, noting that it results in avoidable financial losses, damage to infrastructure, and restricted access for students who rely on the facilities for recreation and training.
The statement warned that any student found engaging in the vandalism or misuse of sports infrastructure will face disciplinary action in accordance with the university’s rules.
The SUG, acting through the Office of the Director of Sports, urged all students to cooperate in safeguarding the facilities and to use them responsibly in the interest of the entire campus community.
