FUTO ISEC Begins Sales of Electoral Forms Ahead of SUG Elections
The Independent Students' Electoral Commission (ISEC) at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has initiated the sale of electoral forms for the upcoming Student Union Government (SUG) elections scheduled for April 4, 2024. Prices of forms have been announced, alongside detailed electoral guidelines and a comprehensive schedule of activities leading up to the elections. The Independent Students' Electoral Commission (ISEC) at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has initiated the sale of electoral forms, alongside the release of comprehensive electoral guidelines and schedules, heralding the much-anticipated Student Union Government (SUG) elections scheduled for April 4, 2024.
In an official announcement disseminated by ISEC, the prices of electoral forms have been unveiled as follows: Presidential candidates are required to procure forms at a rate of N15,000; Vice Presidential candidates at N12,500; other executive positions at N10,000 each, and Members of the Students' Representative Council (MSRC) at N5,000.
Moreover, the electoral guidelines have been outlined, delineating the criteria that individuals must meet to qualify for candidacy in the SUG elections.
Outlined in the electoral schedule meticulously crafted by the commission, the timeline for crucial electoral activities has been delineated as follows:
- Sales of electoral forms will draw to a close on Monday, March 18, with the subsequent submission period spanning until Wednesday, March 20.
- An interactive session with the Dean of Students' Affairs, ISEC, and all aspirants is slated for Thursday, March 21.
- Oral and written screenings, administered by ISEC, will take place on Friday, March 22.

- Internal screening conducted by the FUTO Security Network will occur on Monday, March 25, followed by external screening by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday, March 27.
- The results of the screenings are set to be released on Monday, April 1, marking the commencement of campaign and awareness activities.
