The Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has pledged to construct and donate a lecture building named the Kakanfo Lecture Hall to Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo. This commitment was made during a meeting at his Lagos residence with a delegation from the university led by Dr. Rasak Adefabi, Director of the Directorate of Inter-Community and Alumni Relations.

In a statement by the university's Media and Public Relations Officer, Wale Adeoye, Iba Gani Adams emphasized the importance of education in nation-building, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between education, culture, and technology. He expressed his belief in the critical role of qualitative education in the sustainability of a nation, stressing that neglecting education could lead to societal decline.

"I am honored to host the Vice Chancellor’s delegation today. Education is very important to nation-building, and it is important we cherish our language and culture," stated the Aareonakakanfo. He further pledged his support to enhance the institution's infrastructure, asserting his commitment to commence the construction of the lecture hall project in the near future.

Dr. Rasak Adefabi conveyed the Vice-Chancellor's gratitude for Iba Gani Adams' dedication to advancing education in Yorubaland. He acknowledged the university's historic role in education over the past century, transitioning from a Teacher’s College to a University of Education. Dr. Adefabi expressed appreciation for the Aareonakakanfo's initiative to support the university through the donation of the lecture theatre, which will bear his name.

The university delegation included members of the Inter-Community and Alumni Relations Committee – Dr. Olurotimi Akanni, Mr. Ibrahim Salawu, Wale Adeoye, and Mrs. Olukemi Badmus, the Committee Secretary.
