In a historic celebration of female academic excellence, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has honored four pioneering female professors from the Faculty of Management Sciences. The event, held on Tuesday, March 18, 2024, saw the unveiling of portraits of the first female professors in the faculty's various departments.
The distinguished professors recognized for their groundbreaking achievements include:

Prof. E.O. Adegbite – First Female Professor in the Department of Finance.

Prof. S.O. Ajibolade – First Female Professor in the Department of Accounting.

Prof. B.N. Dixon-Ogbechi – First Female Professor in the Department of Business Administration.

Prof. F.O. Olowokudejo – First Female Professor in the Department of Actuarial Science & Insurance.
The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, alongside senior university officials and faculty members. The initiative, organized under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Adeola A. Sulaimon, was described as a significant step in recognizing and promoting female excellence in academia.
In her address, Prof. Ogunsola commended the initiative, highlighting its importance in fostering mentorship and inspiration for the next generation of female scholars.
