In a remarkable achievement, Godfrey Okoye University's debating team received a warm welcome from the Vice-Chancellor, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, after their record-breaking performance in the British Parliamentary Debate for Nigerian universities. The team reached the semi-finals, a significant accomplishment, especially considering they had only one month of intense preparation.

Represented by ten outstanding students from various faculties, the team demonstrated their exceptional skills at the All Nigerian Youth Debate Championship held at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka. Their impressive performance earned them a well-deserved medal and an award as the "most promising debate team," recognizing their thorough preparation and active participation in the competition.
