Gombe State University Management Engages with Gardeners, Pledges to Improve Welfare

Gombe State University (GSU) Management held an interactive session with the university's gardeners, who are casual staff, on March 5, 2025.

The meeting, led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Danladi Muhammed Umar and Registrar Dr. Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto, aimed to acknowledge the gardeners' contributions, address challenges, and improve their welfare.

During the session, Professor Umar emphasized the importance of every staff member in the university's success, acknowledging the gardeners' immense contributions to maintaining a clean, green, and well-maintained environment.

 

The Registrar highlighted the significance of the gardeners' work, noting that visitors to the university always admire its well-kept environment. He affirmed that credit for this goes to the gardeners, whose commitment to maintaining the university's surroundings is commendable.

In response, the gardeners expressed gratitude to the management for the interactive session, stating that such engagements make them feel valued and motivated.

 

The Registrar assured the gardeners that their working conditions would be reviewed, marking the beginning of periodic engagements aimed at improving their welfare and recognizing their contributions.
