The Kwara State Government has undertaken a comprehensive renovation of the sewage system and hostels at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area. This initiative is part of the government's commitment to providing a conducive environment for Corps members.

During his final inspection of the camp facilities on Saturday, the NYSC Kwara State Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa Joshua, expressed gratitude for the ongoing renovation. He commended Governor AbdulRasak AbdulRahman and his administration for their timely intervention and responsiveness to the NYSC's needs.

“The government has always responded positively to the requests of the scheme, and this has significantly enhanced our operations in the state,” said Mr. Onifade.

The renovation work includes overhauling failed septic tanks, updating water reticulation systems, laying new tiles, replacing broken pipes, and repairing existing bathrooms. The improvements come at a crucial time, with the official commencement of the 2024 Batch 'B' Stream 2 Orientation Course set for Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Mr. Onifade also revealed that approximately 1,960 prospective Corps members are expected at the camp. He assured that the NYSC is fully prepared to accommodate the Corps members comfortably, reflecting the successful collaboration between the state government and the NYSC in enhancing camp facilities.
