Gunmen Attack NYSC Lodge in Jigawa, Injure Corps Member, Attempt Theft

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed an attempted burglary at the Corpers Lodge in Hadejia, Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State, in the early hours of Friday, 23rd August 2024.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed an attempted burglary at the Corpers Lodge in Hadejia, Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State, in the early hours of Friday, 23rd August 2024. The incident occurred when a group of burglars tried to break into the lodge, but they were intercepted by a Corps Member.

During the altercation, the Corps Member sustained a minor injury while successfully fending off the intruders. However, the burglars managed to flee the scene without taking any valuables.

The Nigerian Police Force responded promptly to the distress call and maintained heavy surveillance around the lodge and its surroundings until dawn to ensure the safety of the Corps Members.

Contrary to reports circulating on social media platforms such as Sahara Reporters, no other Corps Members were injured, and no items were stolen during the attempted burglary. The NYSC management clarified the details to prevent misinformation and unnecessary concern among the public.
