Heirs Insurance Group, Nigeria’s fastest-growing insurance company, has announced the top 15 semi-finalists for the third edition of the Heirs Insurance Essay Championship. The finalists were selected from nearly 5,000 entries submitted by Junior Secondary School students across Nigeria.

The entries were evaluated by renowned academics based on originality, depth of analysis, and clarity of thought. Deloitte & Touche, a leading audit and quality assurance firm, independently reviewed the grading process to ensure objectivity.

Three students from the shortlisted group will advance to the grand finale, which will be held at Transcorp Hilton Abuja in September. The finalists will present their essays during an all-expense-paid trip sponsored by Heirs Insurance Group.

Winners of the championship will receive a combined scholarship of ₦8 million, with an additional ₦1 million donation to the final winner’s school. The Heirs Insurance Essay Championship is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to enhance the quality of education for the next generation.

The competition also aims to highlight emerging talent and educate parents and children about financial security through extended workshops. This year’s theme, “If I Could Invent Something New,” attracted creative entries from 35 states across Nigeria. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Heirs Insurance Group, a subsidiary of Heirs Holdings founded by Tony Elumelu, is committed to financial inclusion and digital insurance in Nigeria. The company has introduced digital and mobile channels to make insurance more accessible.
