IAUE Management Acquires New Shuttle Buses for Students
The long distance walks endured by Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) students will soon be a thing of the past, thanks to the newly introduced shuttle bus services.
The long distance walks endured by Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) students will soon be a thing of the past, thanks to the newly introduced shuttle bus services.
At the commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, the Acting Registrar, Dr. Chinonye Abraham Ajie, who represented the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku, expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for initiating the process.
He noted that the shuttle services would ease transportation problems for students within the campus. However, he cautioned against reckless driving and substance abuse while driving.
Earlier, the Director of Special Duties, Professor Ekaete Ekpo, revealed that the shuttle bus services were the Acting Vice Chancellor's response to the students' appeal to ease their movement from one location to another, especially during the rainy season and early morning lecture periods.
She also thanked the Acting Registrar for honoring the invitation and hoped that the students would enjoy a smooth ride to and from their destinations.
In his speech, Chief Jackson Tom Adoki of Jackofil International, the transport company collaborating with the University, promised to ensure the best internal transport services for the students.
He assured that the operators are men of integrity who would adhere to all safety procedures and implement measures to retrieve forgotten items left in the buses.
The shuttle services will provide convenience and easy transportation within the campus, reducing the need for outside vehicles. Students will save time and arrive at their classes promptly, unlike when they have to walk.
The services will also increase productivity for staff who use them to commute between buildings.
The buses features are a relaxed seating arrangements and onboard services for a more comfortable commute.
