IBBUL Restores Full Campus Internet Connectivity, Rejoins Global Academic Network

The Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, IBBUL, has restored full internet connectivity across its campus following the vandalization of its digital infrastructure during the recent student unrest.

The restoration was carried out under the directive of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Hadi Suleiman.

The vandalization of IBBUL’s internet infrastructure did more than cut cables. It disrupted the University’s core mandate of teaching, learning, and research.

For days, digital learning was halted, research collaborations were severed, lecturers resorted to private data subscriptions, and the University’s link to the global academic community was broken.

In response, Professor Suleiman ordered and oversaw an emergency restoration of IBBUL’s digital backbone.

With the intervention completed, full internet service has now been restored across the entire IBBUL campus.

According to the University, the restoration goes beyond connectivity. It is aimed at protecting the future of students, empowering faculty, and reaffirming IBBUL’s place in the global knowledge economy.

With the network back, classrooms have resumed digital learning, researchers have reconnected to global collaborations, and IBBUL has resumed its drive as a 21st century University.

The Vice-Chancellor described the intervention as a demonstration of responsive leadership and digital resilience, noting that it secures academic continuity and positions IBBUL to compete globally.
