Inter-Platoons Sporting Activities Kick Off at NYSC Camp Benue

The event marks the beginning of a series of athletic contests aimed at fostering camaraderie and scouting talented players among Corps Members.
Addressing the participants, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Veronica Garba, emphasized the importance of adhering to the rules of the game. She urged all players to uphold the principle of fair play, reminding them that the primary goal of the tournament is to identify skilled players who will represent the state in the upcoming Director-General’s Sports and Cultural Festival.
"I encourage you, the players, to display your best skills throughout the tournament," Mrs. Garba stated, motivating the participants to give their all during the competition.
Earlier in the event, the Assistant Director of the Games and Sports Committee, Mr. Umoren Kufre, highlighted the role of sports as a unifying factor among youths. He explained that the institutionalization of sports within the NYSC is designed to provide a platform for selecting the core members of the NYSC National Team, among other significant events.
The inter-platoons sporting activities are set to continue, with various events lined up to showcase the athletic talents of Corps Members, all while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
