Federal University Gashua Students Await Nelfund Scholarship Update

Students of Federal University Gashua in Yobe State are eagerly awaiting updates on the Nelfund student loan scholarship they applied for in June 2024.

Despite many students completing the verification process, only a small fraction have benefited from the program, receiving upkeep allowances and having their school fees paid.

Over 2,000 students applied for the scholarship, but so far, only about 200 have been successful. The students had reported their concerns to the university administration, which advised them to wait for a second batch of beneficiaries. However, the lack of further updates has left many students in limbo.

The students have reached out to the Nelfund management, requesting consideration for their situation and an update on the status of their applications. The development highlights the challenges faced by students in accessing financial support and the need for timely communication from the relevant authorities.
