In a move aimed at supporting basic education in Oyo State, Japan-based companies Kawasho Foods Trade Corporation and JFE Shoji Corporation have donated educational materials to 10 public schools. The donated items, presented in Ibadan on Wednesday, include 11,000 exercise books, 360 desks and benches, and 150 cartons of canned food products. These materials were distributed to selected primary schools across the three senatorial districts of the state.

Speaking at the official presentation ceremony, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), lauded the companies for their support. He highlighted the importance of the materials, noting that the furniture would enhance pupils' comfort and sitting posture, while the exercise books would offer necessary writing materials for students, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, thus boosting their academic performance.
