Kaduna State University collaborates with Ador Diagnostics Italy

Myschoolnews are delighted to announce that Dr Chibueze James Igwe, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology, Kaduna State University is undertaking staff institution-based research with Ador Diagnostics in Rome, Italy.

Kaduna State University collaborates with Ador Diagnostics Italy

A total of 20 cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples were delivered to Rome in January 2023.

The collection was verified through in-house tests and found to be by the requirements of the project titled "Clinical Study of Development and Validation for the Infection Disease Test on the NATLab system, Meningitis-Encephalitis Panel."

The collaboration aims to develop innovative diagnostic tools and techniques for the identification and detection of meningitis infectious diseases.

Ador Diagnostics is a renowned research institution that specializes in advanced diagnostic solutions. Their expertise and cutting-edge technologies have greatly contributed to the research project, enhancing the capabilities and resources available to Kaduna State University.

Dr Chibueze James Igwe's appointment as the Principal Investigator for Nigeria demonstrated his exceptional qualifications and expertise in the field of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology. This collaboration not only highlights his achievements but also showcases the recognition of Kaduna State University as a leading Institution in research and innovation.

The research project focused on addressing the challenges of timely and accurate diagnosis of infectious diseases, which is crucial for effective disease diagnosis, management and control. By developing new diagnostic tools, the project aims to improve healthcare outcomes in Nigeria and beyond.

The £5,000.00 grant obtained for the project was utilized to support research activities, including laboratory expenses, equipment acquisition, and data analysis. The funding significantly contributed to the successful execution of the research and the achievement of its objectives.

The partnership between Kaduna State University and Ador Diagnostics is an excellent example of international collaboration in the field of biomedical research. It provides an opportunity for knowledge exchange, skill development, and networking among researchers from different regions.

The first phase of the research has been completed. The second phase will commence in January 2024.
