The Katsina State government, under the leadership of Governor Radda, has committed a substantial investment of N514,105,250 to enhance student participation in various external examinations for the year 2024. This initiative, as announced by the Katsina State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Musawa, underscores the government’s dedication to improving educational outcomes in the state.

A significant portion of the funding, amounting to N450,117,000, has been allocated for the registration of 11,671 students for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams. Additionally, N63,988,250 has been earmarked for 3,110 students sitting for the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) exams.

In 2024, Katsina State also saw the participation of 60,351 candidates in the NECO examination and 452 candidates in the NABTEB exams, demonstrating the state’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for academic excellence.
