In a significant boost to the regional literary scene, the University Library of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRU), Kano, hosted the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Kano Chapter, for its monthly Creative Writers Forum on Saturday, 27th December 2025.

The event, themed "The Writer’s Role in Societal Transformation," served as a high-level gathering for academics, students, and literary enthusiasts to discuss the power of the written word in shaping contemporary society.

The forum featured distinguished poet and scholar, Dr. Aminu Isma'il Sagagi, as the Guest Speaker. In his keynote address, Dr. Sagagi challenged writers to remain resilient in their craft despite the evolving challenges of the publishing industry. He emphasized the necessity of artistic innovation, urging authors to employ creative strategies to captivate modern audiences and sustain reader engagement.

Representing Professor Mustapha Ahmad Isa of Bayero University, Kano, the Chairperson of the occasion lauded the initiative, noting that such collaborations are vital for intellectual growth.
