KHAIRUN Bursary Department Commences Three-Day SOP Development Retreat

The Bursary Department of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, KHAIRUN, has commenced a three-day Standard Operating Procedures, SOP, Development Retreat and Workshop in collaboration with Matmaplus, who are serving as facilitators for the programme.

The retreat, which is aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and promoting standardised processes within the Bursary Department, was formally opened by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Abdulrashid Garba.

In her opening remarks, the University Bursar, Dr. Naja'atu Bala Rabiu, welcomed the Matmaplus team and expressed her appreciation, on behalf of the entire Bursary Department, for honouring the University's invitation to facilitate the important capacity-building programme.

She further appreciated the Vice Chancellor for his unwavering support and commitment to the development of the Bursary Department, particularly for approving the organisation of the retreat. She explained that the workshop is designed to provide the Bursary staff with the necessary knowledge and framework to develop comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures that will guide the department's activities and ensure consistency, efficiency, accountability and professionalism in its operations.

The Bursar noted that, at the end of the three-day retreat, the department is expected to have developed a draft SOP Manual that will serve as a practical guide for the implementation and standardisation of its various processes.

Declaring the retreat open, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, extended his best wishes to the Bursary Department and encouraged the staff to make the most of the opportunity. He commended the University Bursar for enrolling her staff in continuous capacity-building programmes, noting that investing in staff development remains essential to strengthening institutional effectiveness and service delivery.

The three-day retreat is expected to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, practical engagement and collaborative development of a robust SOP framework that will enhance the efficiency, transparency and effectiveness of the Bursary Department.
