Speaking during the engagement, the leader of the delegation explained that the visit was aimed at briefing the Vice-Chancellor on the Forum’s ongoing interventions in addressing insecurity across Nigeria. He outlined key initiatives including public sensitization campaigns, awareness lectures, and humanitarian outreach visits to orphanage homes. The delegation also sought the Vice-Chancellor’s guidance and mentorship, drawing on his academic and leadership experience to strengthen their impact.
In his response, Professor Garba expressed appreciation for the visit and apologized for the earlier postponement due to official academic engagements. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to community engagement and national development, noting that KHAIRUN’s academic model is anchored on science-based education, entrepreneurship development, and moral integrity.
He further highlighted scholarship opportunities available through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative, designed to support students and expand access to quality higher education.
The Vice-Chancellor reiterated that KHAIRUN remains open to strategic partnerships that align with its vision of producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also socially responsible and development-oriented. He commended APAF for its commitment to peacebuilding and national cohesion.

A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of an Award of Recognition to the Vice-Chancellor in appreciation of his contributions to education and national development.
