KIU Vice-Chancellor Commissions Renovated Mosque at College of Medical Sciences
The Vice-Chancellor Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Professor Babagana Gutti, has commissioned the newly renovated College of Medical Sciences mosque located at the college premises.
The commissioning was attended by members of staff and the Shura Council Committee, who undertook the renovation of the mosque. The project reflects the university’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for both academic and spiritual activities.

Head, Department of Islamic Studies, Dr. Abba Alh. Bukar, led the Vice-Chancellor and other worshippers to offer the Asr prayer, marking formal commissioning of the mosque.
In his remarks, Dr. Abba Alh. Bukar, called on staff, students and indeed members of the University community to continue to pray for peace and tranquility within the university and to offer prayers for the Vice-Chancellor and his management for their efforts at repositioning the University for greatness.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor Professor Gutti expressed satisfaction with the renovation, describing the mosque as a sacred place for worship and devotion.
He emphasized that worshipping Allah is a fundamental obligation, and the mosque remains the most appropriate place for such acts and enjoined staff and students to continue to pray for the success and progress of the University.
He commended efforts of the Shura Council Committee and prayed Allah to reward them abundantly.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged Provost of the College of Medical Sciences to ensure proper management of the mosque in collaboration with the students, particularly members of the Muslim Students’ Society (MSS).
He further suggested the appointment of an Imam to consistently lead prayers in the mosque.
