The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has called on the Kwara State government to promptly establish a committee to assess the land status of the university. During the 10th and 11th combined Convocation ceremony, Professor Jimoh raised concerns about significant encroachment on the land originally allocated to the university for research and future expansion. He emphasized the need for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to address the issue by forming a Land Review Committee to reassess the university's land mass.

Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor drew attention to the deplorable state of the road leading to the institution from Ilorin, pointing out bad road conditions and culverts on the verge of collapse. He stressed the importance of addressing these issues, as the road serves not only the university but also numerous agrarian communities in the region.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq acknowledged the university's achievements and its commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for social vices such as examination malpractices, cultism, internet fraud, and drug addiction. The governor urged students to remain vigilant against negative influences.
