Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) has officially unveiled a comprehensive list of 67 take-off programmes spread across its seven colleges, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
The institution, which aims to provide quality education and skill acquisition, has structured its academic programmes to cater to a diverse range of disciplines, including humanities, sciences, vocational studies, management, and specialized education.
The College of Humanities Education (COHED) offers degree programmes in History & Diplomatic Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Fine Arts, Music, and Theatre & Performing Arts. Students have the option of pursuing both educational and non-educational pathways in these disciplines.
In the College of Science Education (COSED), students can enroll in programmes such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Integrated Science, Health Education, and Human Kinetics. These courses aim to strengthen scientific research and application in teaching and learning.
The College of Information and Technology Education (COFTED) focuses on cutting-edge technology-driven courses, including Computer Science, Educational Technology, and specialized technology education in automobile, woodwork, electrical, and metalwork fields. Additionally, Library and Information Science is available to equip students with essential research and information management skills.
For students inclined towards vocational and entrepreneurial studies, the College of Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (COVED) offers programmes in Agricultural Science, Home Economics, Business Education, Secretarial Administration, Accounting, and Entrepreneurship.
The College of Management and Social Sciences Education (COMSSED) presents courses in Economics, Political Science, Educational Management, Geography, Transport Management, Social Studies, and Civic and Citizenship Education, preparing students for leadership roles in governance, business, and public administration.
Specialized education is not left out, as the College of Specialized and Professional Education (COSPED) provides programmes in Early Childhood Care Education, Primary Education Studies, Counseling Psychology, Special Education, and Adult Education, catering to the evolving needs of the education sector.
Lastly, the College of Language and Communication Arts Education (COLCAED) fosters linguistic and communication skills with degree options in English, French, Arabic, Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa.
