The Lagos State Scholarship Board visited Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) on March 18, 2025, to discuss including LASUED students in state scholarship and bursary programs.

In a bid to enhance scholarship opportunities for students, the Lagos State Scholarship Board paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The visit focused on discussions regarding the inclusion of LASUED students in the state’s scholarship and bursary programs.

Welcoming the delegation at the Multimedia Complex of the Vice Chancellor’s Office, LASUED’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to expanding financial aid opportunities for students. She noted that while students have always been enthusiastic about the state bursary, the university seeks to explore additional scholarship options. She assured the delegation that LASUED would work towards ensuring that the partnership is both fruitful and beneficial for its students, maintaining its status as the premier education institution in the state.

The Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Dr. Daodu M.A., commended the Lagos State Scholarship Board for its consistent support and commitment to student welfare. Similarly, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Dawodu R.A., urged the Board to extend scholarship opportunities to students with disabilities, emphasizing that such an inclusion would further inspire and motivate them academically.

Representing the Board, Executive Secretary Mrs. Rasheedat Daranijo described the visit as a step towards strengthening the existing positive relationship between LASUED and the Board. She reiterated the Board’s commitment to enhancing education in Lagos State by providing scholarships to students across various institutions, assuring that LASUED students, including those with disabilities, would benefit from the initiative.

Also present at the meeting were the Registrar, Mr. Akinfemiwa Opeoluwa, the Bursar, Mr. Ganiu Ajose Adeniyi, the University Librarian, Dr. Imam Abayomi, and the Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Mrs. Sami Omolara, among others.
