KWASU Governing Council Ratifies Appointments of Jimba and Adam as DVCs
The Governing Council of Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete, has ratified the appointments of Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba and Professor Shehu Usman Adam as Deputy Vice-Chancellors.
The ratification followed their nomination by the University Senate on July 30, 2026, during the 67th Special meeting of the Senate.
Letters of appointment dated August 11, 2026, and signed by the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo Wasilah Sallee, stated that the two-year appointments take effect from August 13, 2026.

Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba was reappointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, after serving an initial and meritorious two-year term. A Professor of Arabic Language and Literature, Professor Jimba joined KWASU in 2012 and has served in various capacities including Head of Department, Director of the Centre for Ilorin Manuscripts, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies. He was first appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, in 2024.
He has also served as Chairman of the Kwara State Arabic Education Board and is currently Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, following his appointment by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in 2023.
Professor Shehu Usman Adam was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic. He was until the appointment the Director of Consultancy Services at KWASU. He previously served as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences.
Professor Adam joined the service of KWASU in 2022 as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Professor on October 1, 2025. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia, UPM.
