LASU Celebrates as Nine Law Alumni Appointed as Judges of Lagos High Court
Nine alumni of the Faculty of Law at Lagos State University (LASU) have been appointed as judges of the Lagos High Court, marking the highest number of appointments from the university at any given time.
The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, has expressed delight at the appointment of nine alumni from the Faculty of Law as judges of the Lagos High Court. This achievement marks the highest number of appointments from LASU at any given time in history.

The newly appointed judges include Hon. Justice Sunmonu Tunde Bashiru, Hon. Justice Alebiosu Olawale Lawal, Hon. Justice Anjorin-Ajose Tanimola Abdulwaheed, Hon. Justice Muyodeen Abdul-Raheem Tejumade, Hon. Justice George Alfred Akingbola, Hon. Justice Balogun Adegboyega Ganiu, Hon. Justice Badejo-Okusanya Yewande Jokotola, Hon. Justice Ojuromi Nalirat Olayinka Oluwatosin, and Hon. Justice Adewale Russel Musiliu.

Prof. Olatunji-Bello congratulated the new judges, acknowledging their hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to the legal profession. She attributed their success to the solid foundation of excellence provided by the Faculty of Law at LASU.
This achievement comes shortly after ten graduates from the Faculty of Law also attained first-class degrees at the Nigerian Law School final Bar Examinations in February this year. LASU continues to distinguish itself as a leading institution for legal education, producing outstanding legal professionals who excel in their careers and contribute significantly to the judiciary and society at large.
