LASU Bursar and DICT Director Inducted Into African Legendary Hall Of Fame
Lagos State University's Bursar, Mr. Said Babatunde Olayinka, and Director of ICT, Prof. Oluwatoyin Enikuomehin, were inducted into the African Legendary Hall of Fame at the Afrikanwatch 13th Lecture, Awards, and Induction Ceremony on May 18, 2024.
Lagos State University (LASU) continues to garner international recognition as two of its distinguished figures, Mr. Said Babatunde Olayinka, FCA, Bursar, and Prof. Oluwatoyin Enikuomehin, Director of the Directorate of ICT, were honored at the Afrikanwatch 13th Lecture, Awards, and Induction Ceremony. The event took place on May 18, 2024, at the College Hall, Yaba College of Technology.

Mr. Olayinka, a respected chartered accountant, and Prof. Enikuomehin, a renowned professor of Computer Science, were inducted into the prestigious African Legendary Hall of Fame (ALHF). Their induction highlights their contributions to academic excellence and the advancement of technology in education.
The Afrikanwatch Network's ceremony also honored other notable Nigerians, including Sen. Anthony Adefuye, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Fola Lasisi, Prince Fagbemi, SAN, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice of the Federation, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delta, Agbor, and Engr. (Dr.) Ibraheem Abdul, Rector of Yaba College of Technology.

The event featured a thought-provoking lecture titled “Nigerian Politics of Today: The Quest for National Rebirth … Reclaiming the Identity of a Nation,” delivered by Prof. Hope Eghagha from the University of Lagos. The gathering of high-profile attendees included Mr. Sam Omatseye, Chairman of the Editorial Board of The Nation Newspaper, and Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, represented by Hon. Desmond Elliot.
Among the LASU honorees were Comrade Chief Agnes Sessi, Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Lagos Chapter, and Engr. Bayo Akinwunmi, CEO of Sedav Construction Company, a prominent contractor with the university. These awards underscore the remarkable achievements and contributions of LASU’s staff and affiliates under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello.
