The Lagos State University Career Development Centre, in collaboration with Fasttrack Academy and Recruit Tech by Bossmeek, organized the 2024 Lagos Career Fair at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, under the theme "Building Resilience, Employability Skills, and Positioning for Growth."

The Lagos State University Career Development Centre (LASU CDC), in collaboration with the Fasttrack Academy and Recruit Tech by Bossmeek, hosted the inaugural 2024 Lagos Career Fair at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja. With a focus on "Building Resilience, Employability Skills, and Positioning for Growth," the event attracted Managing Directors/Chief Executive Officers, Human Resource Experts, students from Lagos State University, and Corps members.

Dr. Medinat Osundiya, Deputy Director of LASU Career Development Centre, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and the event organizers. She encouraged attendees to actively participate, ask questions, and network with industry leaders to glean insights and seize opportunities.

Keynote speaker Otunba Kazeem Olayemi Odeyeyiwa, CEO of Repton groups, emphasized essential employability skills for success in the job market. These skills included effective communication, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, self-management, and ethical awareness. Odeyeyiwa also shared strategies for job positioning, urging attendees to tap into close networks, prioritize self-development, uphold a sterling reputation, and expand their professional connections.

The career fair featured panel sessions with human resource experts and managing directors. Dr. Igot Ofem, Acting Director of the Lagos State University Centre for Response and Prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (LASU CRPSGBV), shared her career journey as a human capital development expert. She also discussed LASU CRPSGBV's efforts to combat sexual harassment in the workplace and on campus.
