Sandwich degree programme students turn up in large number for CBT exam as bursary activated check.

A large number of students of the Sandwich Degree Programme, Lagos State University (LASU) turned up on Thursday, 7 September 2023 at the Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre, to write their examination.

The Students, in their numbers lined up at the entrance to the CBT Centre, close to the ODLRI Building. The large turn out could be connected to the fact that the officials from the Bursary Department of the University were around to carry out their responsibility as they activated the check process, to determine if the students had complied with the directive by the authority of the institution of paying their school fees in full.

Despite the huge crowd, a team of the University Security Unit, the personnel from the Directorate of Sandwich Degree Programme and the Bursary made the process seamless as the students' receipts were checked in order to be sure they had fulfilled their obligation of paying their school fees in full. Those, who could not readily provide their receipts were told to do so and they found a way of providing them and were allowed into the examination hall.

The students, mostly module 1, 2 and 3 were orderly and comported themselves as  they were called into the venue to write their papers. The call up had two level of screening, the outer entrance and the entrance into the CBT Hall. The technical support crew on ground were available  to assist few of the students who had teething challenges on the computer systems.

The Director, Sandwich Degree Programme, Prof. John Adeogun, when asked about the check by the Bursary personnel, retorted that it was a normal routine check and nothing untoward, just to be sure the students had paid their school fees in full.

The Administrative Secretary, Quality Assurance, Mr Olatunde was around to access the smooth running of the examination and was satisfied with the conduct as he moved round the examination venue to have a first hand information about the examination. He was seen having some interaction with the invigilators, supervisors as well as the students, apparently to know if the conduct of the examination was good.

The Computer Based Test will continue next week Wednesday, 13 September at the same venue.

Meanwhile, the written examination will enter week two(2), from Friday, 8 September 2023 at different halls at the Main Campus, Ojo throughout this weekend.
