LASU Secures ₦25 Million Prize at NATAP-M Awards as Nigeria’s Most Preferred University
Fresh from emerging as Nigeria’s most subscribed university for the second consecutive year, Lagos State University (LASU) has recorded another remarkable achievement with the award of ₦25 million by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The university received the cash prize at the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting held on Monday, 11th May 2026, in Abuja as part of the National Tertiary Admissions’ Performance-Merit Award (NATAP-M Awards).
LASU emerged as the Second Runner-Up Institution in the overall category of the prestigious award, securing an aggregate score of three points across the five assessment elements of the Mega Award in the 6th Edition for the 2025 admission year.

The award was presented to the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Distinguished Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola. Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, by the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede.
The latest honour comes on the heels of the university’s emergence as the most preferred institution in Nigeria for the 2026 admission exercise, with a record 84,326 candidates selecting LASU as their first-choice institution in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Vice-Chancellor described the twin achievements as a reflection of the institution’s commitment to excellence, innovation, transparency, and student-centred administration.
