LAUTECH Announces School Fee Increase for 300 to 600 Level Students

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology recently hiked their school fees up to 168,000 for Indigenes and 214,000 for non-Indigenes. A move that has resulted in a series of backlash from the University Community.

LAUTECH Announces School Fee Increase for 300 to 600 Level Students

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology(LAUTECH) on the 7th of November released a Memo that contained a notice of the Increment of School fees for 300 to 600 level Students of the University. For Indigenes, they are now to pay a total sum of 168,000 naira and for the Non Indigenes, the school fees was jacked up to 214,000 naira.

The Recent Increment was met with backlash from the University Community, who saw the move as Insensitive and predatory. Several Alumni of the Institution joined the Conversation recounting how cheap and affordable the fees were during their time as students. Some said their school fees never exceeded 40k throughout their stay. While some noted that 65k was the highest they ever paid. The SUG Governent's inefficiency was highlighted in those conversation with some suggesting that they are docile and do not properly represent the Interest of the people.
